SINGAPORE : Singapore horror movie "Rule #1" is set to hit the
big screen on March 13.
The film is directed by award—winning Singaporean director
Kelvin Tong, who also brought us "The Maid".
Shot entirely in Hong Kong, it stars Hong Kong actors Shawn Yu
and Ekin Cheng, alongside homegrown actress Fiona Xie.
The show is based on phone calls made by the public, reporting
about supernatural events.
"(In) this film, we deliberately worked with people from
different parts of Asia, in this case with Hong Kong. (We) sort of
throw everything up in the air and have something that is fairly
unique that we can call as close to our own," said Daniel Yun, CEO
of Raintree Pictures.
"It is more than a horror film; it’s a film that explores the
psyches of four very important characters. And hopefully, audiences
can engage with (the film) at a level that is more than bangs and
scares," said director Kelvin Tong. — CNA /ls
